| Bio: | I'm a mom to two lovely children, Abby & Michael, from my first marriage. My love I'm probably described as "opinionated" by those that know me, but you should also know that those opinions tend to change over time so please don't get too excited over anything I say. I have a degreee in nursing, but I still haven't managed to jump through the various regulatory hoops to secure my nursing licensure as an RN. This is mostly because I'm not looking forward to working in a hospital. The hospital environment is very difficult and thoroughly frustrating. But the fundamental work of nursing is wonderful. One of the primary tenets of nursing philosophy is that clients have both the right and the ability to care for themselves and that the role of the nurse is to facilitate such. Nurses work with clients to help them understand their health status, develop personal health goals, identify the strengths they can use to reach them and plan realistic strategies for the difficulties they face. These ideas are supremely rooted in personal liberty and that is a lovely thing. | |
